Design and Construction of a 0.6 m Computer Controlled Telescope

IPRO 317 charged itself with the design and construction of a fully operable and highly useful 0.6 m computer controlled telescope. Our main goal is to complete the construction of the telescope and design of the software by the end of April, 2003.

Using materials provided by our sponsor, Jeff Terry, research from books and the Internet, and a lot of teamwork, IPRO 317 hoped to produce a quality telescope with numerous applications in celestial research.

The team divided into three subsections. Those subgroups and their own personal goals, as well as a list of members, sponsors, and contact information, can be found under TEAM.

By the end of April, most of our goals had been achieved. In fact, we placed first overall in the IPRO competition! Congratulations to IPRO 317, Spring 2003!

Information on our work throughout the semester is posted in the LOG section.
